I have a 69 coupe with MC1 3 speed transmission and 350 V8. I have to move the shift lever in and out of reverse several times to get the starter to engage. I removed the back up/ neutralizer switch, cleaned it re-aligned the .092 hole with the sliding part. Now my back-up lights work, but the starter is still an issue. My switch only had 2 wires connected to it (pink & green). The service manual shows another connection on the switch, that I don't have. Does anyone know how to make the starter work every time. I've tried turning the column but that didn't help.
