I plan on selling my 1967 Firebird 400 convertible. It was my daily driver for years, but has been sitting the last 8 years. It is currently not running. I was hoping for a ballpark estimate.

The car is currently not running. Would someone please direct me to a website with price ranges for the different grades? Hagerty only seems to list the ram air version of which only 65 were produced. Mine is just a standard 400.

Plum Mist is a fairly rare color, so that helps. Being an original 400 car with the original motor helps, tranny not as big of a deal, but original numbers on all always helps. Convertible always a Plus. The other options are good ones as well. With out seeing the condition, kind of hard to say.
But I would have to guess it could be in the $15k-$18K range in today's pricing depending on why it's not running and over all condition and what may need to be done to it. The better the condition (no rust, never been hit paint that will come back etc The stronger the price obviously... The more work it needs, the closer to the $10K side it could go...
With an upcoming election year things fluctuate greatly as people are uncertain of which way things will go. So if you are serious about selling, starting now and into the spring is the best time to sell before politics ruin yet something else! Lol! If you can get it running, that would help the value tremendously...
Again, this is all just speculation guessing that it's in good to very good condition... We've all seen something that should be scrapped where people are asking $20k for it? It all depends on what it's worth to you, and then you just need one other person who sees that value in it as well...
Good luck (but I hope you keep it and fix it up to enjoy for many more years!)
Agreed that a non running classic will drop value by 5-8k off the bat. Yes, engine may be original, but without first pulling it apart knowing what is wrong and even if could be rebuilt will sway everyone away with two exceptions...the right price OR someone who knows what to look for.
I agree that 15-18K as-is very accurate based on the color and options listed.
My opinion?
if the car is coveted and you are looking for a price to list, ANY guide is just that...a guide. IMO, you are looking, on what information provided here, shows $19k as low retail value.
"Low Retail Value This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Most usable ‘as-is’. This value does not represent a ‘parts car’. Note: Some of the vehicles in this publication could be considered ‘Daily Drivers’ and are not valued as a classic vehicle. When determining a value for a daily driver, it is recommended that the subscriber use the low retail value".
Since your Firebird is NOT running and engine is in unknown condition, in order to get to that $19k, one would assume that estimate is just that, an estimate.
There are enthusiasts that would buy the car as-is...but not at 19k. At least pull the motor and have engine inspected and certified by the shop as re-buildable. This would cost you time to remove and about $500 in shop labor. You will not take as bad a hit on price if you just said engine doesn't run.
IMO, I would take the hit and rebuild the engine for $3-4k and get it running well. It will cost you, sure...but at least you will be higher than the 19k valuation NADA places as a guide.
Or enlist the services of a certified appraiser for a value.
Any way you go absent getting the car running trying to get a value will sway such a guesstimate as much as 30-50%
