Hey guys, I have been a long time gone from this forum. Probably better part of 2 years. Between having a new son, busting my jeep, work, and everything else I have had little time to be on here, let alone show any love to the firebird. So my 67 convertible has literally sat for over a year, I have started it, rolled it in and out of the garage a half dozen times but other than that, its collected dust.
I have been sitting on a Hotchkiss stage 1 TVS suspension kit for the better part of 2 1/2 years, just never got around to instilling it. I had planned on doing it last christmas holiday season but the week before I was going to start I shattered the front axle of my jeep offroading, so I took on the project of doing that. I figured it would take 3-4 weeks to do everything I wanted. Well things keep growing and growing and 7 months later the jeep is finally back on the road. Fast forward to a month ago and I start getting things ready to work on the firebird and I get the call from work "We need you, emergency deployment to the middle east!!!" (Cant really say where, but you guys can figure it out with all thats going on in the world).
So long story not so short.... Here I sit in a not so nice place, looking at pictures of my family and toys. So the FB needs some work, the cosmetic stuff is easy enough. What I need from you guys is advice on some parts kits.
SO, 1st... What power brake kit do you recommend? 4 or 2 wheel disc? I am not interested in sourcing OEM parts or period correct parts, this isn't a show car its my family cruiser and the 4 wheel drums are shot.
2nd, what power steering kit do you recommend? I currently have no power steering and want to put a kit on it that will work, same as above I don't care about sourcing period correct parts.
What I am looking for a decent solid kits with everything in it so when I get home from this hell hole I can start turning some wrenches to help normalize, as normal as I can get anyways.
Thanks guys, here is a pic of how the FB sits right now. BEFORE I WASHED IT
