Hey stupid question but how do I get this 2Brl 2GC carb off the manifold?
It appears to have 4 mounting bolts (see bottom view of like type), but 1 bolt (left corner of side view near choke) is under an overhang and wedged where I can get nothing on it. Do i try and remove bowl first - just dont want to drop anything down the intake. I read around and some directions say remove 2 bolts and this gasket appears to only have 2 holes, but there is definitely bolts in all 4 of my holes. ?>

Did you get anywhere on this challenge, friend? I've messed with many old carbs over the years and they all have had four bolts...and many with studs and nuts, not true bolts. Where are you at on this project?

yup I got it off - rebuilt it and it fired up great yesterday. It was all 4 bolts - got that confirmed by my Camaro nastyz28.com buddies. Roch carbs are everywhere i figured.
I got the socket on which was key - basicly cleaned up around it, found a little thinner wall socket and lightly forced it on. After I got the socket on I had to buy a 1/4 x 1/4 x 2inch bar at the hardware store - in the midwest fastener section (love that section). I had just enough room to slide that in the socket and turn the bar with a small 1/4inch open end wrench. I had to user this method on 2 of the 4 bolts but it worked perfect and i got good tourque.

Got it, that's good. Perhaps a distributor wrench might have worked also the big tool trucks (snap~on, mac etc.) would have something that would work, box end crows foot or similar.

I found nothing but a socket would fit around it - open end and dist wrench which i have were all to thick and angle doesnt work. The wrench in my pic is laying on a small raised ridge as well so you cant try and get even partially on a couple flats without tipping the wrench significantly.
