I'm about to drop big bucks into a complete 2.5 inch exhaust system for my 68 400. Battle seems to be between Magnaflow and Flowmaster. Theres only a difference in price of about 100-150 bucks.
Need to hear some recent purchasers thoughts on both systems please. Order goes out in two days cause I NEED to DRIVE this CAR!! The new Hedman Headers obviously need bigger tubes than the stock 2-inch system I have now.

Bought my pipes from PY. Long branch in to downpipes and the Xpipe set. Mounted some Ultraflows behind that and just dumps. Sounds real nice. Didn't seem that loud to me until I took it for a drive and couldn't really hear the radio playing. Then my ears were kind of ringing for a while after I got home from about an hour on the freeway. I don't really mind too much. Only going to drive it once in a while anyways.
I got the Flowmaster 2.5" kit w/ Deltaflow 40's from Summit. The installation was a SNAP, and it has a mean growl. If you order from Summit, you don't pay shipping, just the $8.95 order processing charge. Most places charge $70+ to ship your exhaust kits.
I also bought my Flowmaster 2.5 kit from Summit. I've yet to start the engine but the kit is awesome. It comes with everything you need to do the install. You will need to weld the included header flange to the included reducer since you are running headers. Click on the 2nd link below and scroll to the bottom of the page to see the whole system laid out on the ground. What's nice is it attaches to the stock mounting locations on the Firebird and fits like a dream (even with the car lowered 1" in the rear and 2" in the front).
I also bought the flowmaster kit from Summit and it sounds awesome. I have the 2.5 inch with the H pipe and transverse muffler in the rear. I also have a convertible and had to put spacers under the X brace but overall great fit, sound, performance.
The only thing I don't like is how the tail pipes look. I'm gonna do something different, just haven't decided what. Total price was like $360.
Great, read these comments too late and ordered the Magnaflow complete kit, 2.5 inch mandrel dual exhaust. 438 bucks with free shipping. Will let you know how this works out.
