I need a new door Jamb windlace molding (rear). Every parts website has the same replacement OER item (ie http://www.ecklersfirebird.com/firebird-door-jamb-windlace-rear-1968-1969.html). Do these fit? I need it to be parchment. Do these paint well? My original (?) windlace molding that needs to be replaced does not have the "flange" at the top that all of the OER items have and there is no obvious peg to attach the flange. Any suggestions?
My experience with OER has not been very good with Windlace. They look good but do not fit very well for deluxe interior they over lap it with another set of material to make it soft and it's floppy doesn't really fit the lines of the body. if you have the original ones and they're in good shape and you can replace the little tab I would do that otherwise I'd be shopping for some any color originals. The coloring of them is pretty easy the dyes they have these days is pretty good.just make sure the adhesive. is properly mixed with it. I did my interior in Ivory gold and it's held up very well with the dyes.. Just make sure you clean it with a good prepping solution.
