Anyone know best way to refinish woodgrain on console, guage bezel, and ash tray? My parts are good but woodgrain very bad. New console is $700.00. I think my 68 is Burlwood. Thx
There are replacement burlwood "wraps" (for lack of better term" available, but I have heard mixed results with them. If you do a search on burlwood or console, I know there have been quite a few discussions on this site for those. One option discussed was was different than what I mentioned above, and you could control the amount of "brightness or pop" that you wanted.

See the current post on Hydrographing- that is what I was trying to remember. Looks really good when they are done. I might have mine done that way eventually when the funds come back after getting the rest of the cart done.

Sleddog is correct! Here is the link to the topic on Hydrographing. https://firstgenfirebird.org/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=303088#Post303088 I did mine also except for that I didnt do the burlewood design, I went to something a lil more modern as you can see from my pictures I posted on there. That is probably the cheapest and best way to redo your console and it looks FANTASTIC! I got mine done in Raliegh, NC for $250.00.
Looks good I was actually going to try and get some real burlwood vernier to make the center plate on my car. But then I have to do the console as wellong to match.
