I purchased my '68 without a rear license plate light assembly. I ordered one from Ames. When I went to install it I ran into a problem. It looks like I will have to remove the rear bumper to install it. Could someone point me in the right direction.
if i recall, that's why my lisence plate lamp lens has been sitting in a box for almost 10yrs. I forgot to put it on before the bumper. makes a nicely spread glow behind the car
it had a chip, and i meant to replace it... so i put the bumper on. d'oh.
Yes, you do have to remove the bumper. I ran into the exact same problem. I even ordered another one from a different vendor thinking I had the wrong one. Removing the bumper was pretty easy, so I installed mine and now I have a spare.
