I'm trying to install the pinion snubber in my 68 convertible. It is supposed to push through and hold in place however I can't get it to push through. Does anyone have any tips? I've tried cutting down the tabs slightly but it still won't go. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

I tried lithium grease. Maybe I'll try WD40 tonight.

I pushed, cussed, poked and probed,. I then tried greasing it and then cussed poke and probed. I was about to give up and then it slipped right in.
Maybe heat it with a heat gun to warm the rubber up.
