I tore out my drivers side rear wheel wells for replacement along with a new rear quarter panel skin. I noticed that the driver side rocker panel tunnel is rusted pretty heavy. Debating on replacing it. Curious on how hard it is it to replace. I plan on putting in a new floor pan as well. Are you better off waiting on the rocker till u take out the floor pan and does it really matter.

Coupe or convertible? Rockers are different on the two. Keeping the proper alignment is key and easier on the coupe because you have a roof. The vert is a different story.
I did a floor replacement on my vert. In my personal opinion, remove only one at a time to be sure you don't lose your reference points. If you take both out at the same time, you might have a difficult time getting both to fit properly with aftermarket pieces. It's a tough call which to do first - I might lean for the rocker assuming you can keep the floor from getting too damaged removing the rocker to floor welds. The floor will serve as reference with the rocker install, then followed by the floor... You could make the same argument going the opposite way I suppose.
I've not had to replace the rockers but others have and might chime in.
I am too bob. The rocker frame is rusted pretty good but if I take the outer cover off. I could prolly clean it up enough to paint it in por15 to seal it all up and then put a new rocker cover over it. I've got my rear quarter skin just about all cut away so I was concerned on whether I could finish that first then do the rocker or if I had to do the rocker first. 4dabird your right. I don't want to do the floor and the rocker at the same time. Mine concern was doing the rear quarter skin before or after the rocker. Because the skin comes down and stops right at the rocker seam
It took two days. A lot of spot weld cutting and lots and lots of cussing. But it's done and replaced. I hope the passenger side is good n doesn't need replaced
