I'm sure this has been covered more than once on here, but am unable to locate anything. I am trying to install oil pressure sending unit(s) on 350 and due to header location at oil filter neck, am unable to plumb into this location. I have read about using the port located next to the distributor at the top/back of the block and have located the port, but am I really going to get good oil pressure out of this port? Can I tee off of this port to use both the aftermarket gauge and the dummy light? Is there another port that can be used?
The port near the distributor is supposed to be a good spot for a sender and some will say better than the stock location. The deciding factor may be whether you can get that plug out. If you can, you can use a tee and put both senders there. I'd suggest using steel fittings. I broke a brass nipple that I used to attach a tee. It fatigued through the exposed thread from the vibration and the weight of the senders.
