I purchased a '68 Firebird fixer upper that the previous owner had started converting to a Camaro. The rear light panel and the entire front panels were all swapped for Camaro parts. I have decided to continue with the change as it is the cheaper way to go I think. Someday I hope to convert it back to a Firebird. I bought a Camaro bumper and the mounting brackets. They will arrive next week. The question I have is whether the Firebird frame will have the correct holes to match the brackets or if I will need to position the brackets and drill new holes in the frame? If the latter is correct, any idea how to know where to locate the brackets?
I hope I get some good answers to this and not some angry posts about my lack of trueness to the Firebird iny car. My motivation is to get something finished that my son and I can enjoy without breaking the bank.
May not get many answers as this isn't something that many here have done.
Perhaps compare pictures of the brackets?
We know the sub-frames are interchangeable between the cars along with some year Nova's etc. I would think new holes may need to be drilled, but filling/welding and retapping wouldn't be necessary.

from my research the 67-69 frames are the same when it comes to the front horn of the frame. I just purchased a 74 Nova frame and it looks the same as my bird frame.
Okay, looking at brackets and illustrations, for the Camaro, it looks like the front bumper brackets mount to sheet metal.

Yes, from my bad memory, going way back to the early '80's, I remember the 'Maro front bumper mounting completely different than the 'bird.
I hate to be the first one to say it, but I'd go back to Pontiac configuration. You could probably sell those 'Maro parts for big $$. Those people are crazy!
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. x2 If you have a good look at the front clip of a camaro compared to a Firebird nothing could be more different. Putting a square peg in a round hole. Sorry dude...check part pricing. You might be able to go back and make $$. Engine harness is your next nightmare...
