Bought an OER brand repop rear view mirror from Classic Industries for my '69 vert. All mirrors of that era, all brands, had a Madrid grain black vinyl trim surrounding the mirror. (The part you grab to adjust it.) Even today's cars have this design. The OER mirror has a hideous looking, incorrectly shaped trim surround that appears to be made from generic gray window weather stripping. This piece would be jarringly ugly in any car. They tell you to paint to match your interior, but given the design of the piece that would be next to impossible if your name isn't Rembrandt. I doubt that paint would adhere for long to the rubber/plastic material anyway. The ball joint for mirror adjustment was also such a poor fit that it was bound up and barely moved. You would probably break the mirror trying to adjust it. Horrible piece in both appearance and function. Ames only sells mirrors with the same gray trim, so probably the same awful manufacturer. Do NOT buy one. A bad deal at 5 bucks, but they charge $50.
