I just bought a 206 piece front end hardware kit and I was wondering if anyone had a diagram or assembly manual that would tell me what size bolts go where. The kit I bought was a bag full of body shims, various size bolts, j-clips, etc. I'm not sure what bolt goes where? Any help would be helpful.
First off, I thought the beauty of those kits was that the fasteners all came in separate bags with labels? My deluxe interior kit from Ames came that way. So did my ARP bolt kit for my 455 and my SS bolt front end bolt kit from Totally Stainless.
Without that my best suggestion would be the 1973 Illustrated Parts diagrams that describe the diameter and length of fasteners:
The front and rear bumper sections would be the best place to start. The front sheet metal diagram not so much. Now you have an even bigger puzzle to work out!

I bought a basket case that was apart, it is missing a few pieces. I have got most of the pieces I'm missing, and I'm getting ready to put on the front clip. just not sure where the bolts go.
Prob just sort them out by size and type. The hood bolts will be obvious. The bigger body bolts and j nuts prob go lower fender to cowl. All the rest of the 5/16 body bolts and j nuts go everywhere else.
Post a pic of your kit! As Salmon said, they are usually bagged and have a tag inside that tells you where they go or what panel they go on and usually there is a sheet that lists all the different bags.
