I'm not liking the oil gauge running a line thru the car...I noticed it leaking yesterday.... I have the 3 gauge cluster under the radio.. is there an electronic version?? and id like to do a tac in the car.. I seen one that was mounted to the steering column.. anyone have one or thoughts.. thanks..
I thought 3 gauge cluster was a Camaro factory option?

They make electric oil pressure gauges. That's what I use. I don't like the idea of a piece of crappy tubing full of hot high pressure oil inside my car.
For a tach, they make a mini tach you can hose clamp to the steering column. Or you can go hood tach
Yes, the under dash 3 gauge option was Camaro only.
I had your exact same gauge setup in my car when I bought it and it was one of the first things I tore out. It included the oil feed sender line and I had the same feelings of "Man I do not want a pressurized oil line terminating in my interior."
The more I learned about FGF's, the more I learned about the cool things that made them unique from the "C" car. Among them were the hood tach and factory gauges in the cluster (a place that you can actually see them). Thus my opinion to "Go the distance " and install the factory options . It takes some doing and $$$ to "do it right", but it is very much for worth it in the end.

It is, but I wish mine would work more often than when it doesn't.

Mine never works when I'm not driving it.
But works every time when I drive.

Yep, hood tach and rally gauges are the way to go.
Bought mine off ebay long time ago. cleaned them up myself. Painted the Pod and housing, and to really do it right I went so far as to buy all new wiring harness's for the car.

Wasn't easy or cheap but I wanted what I wanted.
Same here. Replaced all the OEM wiring harnesses to do the proper swap to the Rally Gauges along with acquiring a used set of gauges, sending the gauge cluster off to be totally refurbished and then installing everything.
But oh so functional and cool. And with a built-up 455, I do watch my oil pressure and coolant temp a lot.

I'm new to firebirds and hood tachs but my bird has the hood tach and rally gauge cluster next to the speedo all work except the tach only works while the parking or head lights are on, what could this indicate?
I would say someone plugged it into the lights connection in the fuse boxes. It is an open and available connection and most instructions tell you to do it. Plug it into the aux connection in the fuse box.
Your right I tracked it to the fuse block and it was plugged into the lamp socket, I moved it to the ign socket , problem solved Thanks ! This forum is GREAT ,! Lol

We really need to figure out how to download a bunch of members brains and make them searchable.

I believe Sheldon Cooper is working on that

I installed Auto Meter gauges in place of my stock dash. Below the center dash I have a trio of additional gauges; L to R - fuel pressure, clock, air/fuel. My gauge of choice is Sport Comp II. I like the LED backlighting, full sweep, electric gauges. I'd like to fit a vacuum gauge somewhere to practice fuel economy driving.
I'd post a picture, but darned if I can find the Image Manager link mentioned in the FAQ.
