Hello. I ordered the convertible weatherstripping kit from Classic Industries, and the replacement stripping that goes on the pillar doesnt seem to be like the original. The original seems to have a metal bracket imbedded inside to help mount it to the pillar at the top. The one I ordered doesnt have the metal so it just kind of flops around. Anyone experienced this and have a solution, or a proper part # for it? Thanks!
I ordered mine from soft seal and I don't believe they had any metal. The one I took off did not either. Only ones I had with metal embeded was the seals for the convertible top. Maybe others will respond and will see if theirs had metal embeded in them.
Are you referring to the metal channels that the weatherstripping sits in? There are metal channels on both sides that the weather stripping sits in with a metal tab that folds over holding the upper part of the rubber in place. The top screw goes through the rubber and the channel and into the pillar post.

The metal bracket was molded into the original weather strip, non of the new ones to my knowledge has the metal in them. I installed mine the way they came and saved the metal strips....
