I've been playing around with different offset wheels in my head to figure out my final desired combination. I currently have a C4/C5 Corvette disc brake set mounted on some turned down 69 Camaro drum hubs. Am I recalling correctly, are the Camaro and Firebird hubs different? I seem to recall the Firebird having a wider front track due to the hubs, but can't find something to confirm that. If you know of a difference and how much, please let me know.
I know that washing and waxing my car with the present condtion of my paint is like polishing a turd.....but it's my turd and I want it polished!
This is a good question... I'm beginning to think that you are on track with something as my tire/fender clearance is very minimal on my 69. I'm using year one 17" rally 2 wheels and have a hotchkis suspension (2"springs and control arms with stock hubs and brakes). My front end is tucked and love the look but it's a little too close for comfort. Last time I did the math I miscalculated my use of sold subframe bushings. The aluminum bushings reduce the body subframe clearance by 1/2 inch which calculates to a 1 inch tuck (approx). The problem with this is it reduces shock distance and I bottom out occasionally. The only thing that leads be to believe that they are the same is every vender says they work! Plus they have the photos backing it up.

Oh, again, if I'm recalling correctly (and that is the whole reason for the post) they would still interchange. That's why a vendor can just have 1 setup. But it would move the wheel in or out depending on which ones you had. So I am specifcially asking about the stock GM Camaro hub vs. the stock GM Firebird hub.
I seem to recall looking into this about 12 years ago or so when I selected my brake package. But can't seem to confirm one way or another yet.

I went through this same problem a few years ago. I bought four front drum hubs for my brake upgrade. One or two were from a Pontiac Firebird and two or three were from a Camaro. They were all the same. I wanted two extra since there was machine work needed. I think the wide track might have been in the back spacing. I tried posting a picture but photobucket is not working correctly again.
I was able to find an old posting (embarrassed that it was my old posting and I didn't recall it right away) that describes a 1/4" offest between the Camaro hubs and SOME Firebird hubs. It references a document on Touring Classics website that provides dimensions. Unfortunately they are no longer active, so I'll look to see if I have any of their literature around from when I bought the kit.
