Hello. At some point years and years ago, the power top stopped working on my dads 68 vert. I;ve been told there are pins that were removed to make it work manually. I'm trying to get the power top working for him again. Where might I find these pins? I have searched online and in the catalogs but can't find any info. Thanks in advance!
Only thing I can think of is someone might of unbolted the hydraulic cylinders and left the bolts out so you could move it manually. That should be the only thing removed. You would need the bolt for frame to hydraulic cylinder.
I can not tell from your photo what you are showing me. But I included a image of from the parts manual.
The hydraulic cylinder is part 47. That connect to the hinge which is part 42. There are two bolts that go through the hinge in to the hydraulic cylinder 53 and 44. This are what is referenced in the links in the earlier post. If you took the bolts out, it would allow you to manually lift or lower the top.
Also if you take the side panels off where the back seat and quarter windows are, you should see the hydraulic cylinders and should be able to actually see how they connect.
Does this look like the proper bolts? Tough to find the proper name. My picture above is of what looks like a bushing/grommet that is missing a bolt (under the visable bolt and nut) taken looking down between the rear widow and rear seat baffle.
Thanks Harold. That helps with the name, but unfortunately I am having a hard time Identifying the bolts on any website to purchase them. This has become a lot harder than I thought it would be! Rohrt said to try Hydro, but I don't know how to get a hold of him.
