This is a kind of boring post but I am under pressure from my 4 year old son. Little Vince is now in a booster seat that requires a shoulder belt. My '67 only has lap belts. I have seen some aftermarket shoulder belts in Classic Industries. Does anyone have any experience with them or putting shoulder belts in a '67 or '68 ragtop?
Vince, It's not a "boring" post. In fact there's been others asking recently. It's good to see kids safe and a part of 1st Gen cruising. I recall the booster seat we had for my kids was lap belts only so there wasn't a problem. They have advanced a lot since then. (Guess I need to study up with my first grandchild on the way.) There's an active post over on a Camaro forum discussing rear shoulder belts and one that was here about a month ago. See:
Thanks Jim, I'll check them out. My 4 year old loves going out for ice cream in what he calls "daddy's and Vinnie's car." I had him out crusing with the top down when he was 8 months old and he loved it. I now have another 8 month old too so it's time to get him out there.
I have put shoulderbelt at the front, now 2 point but I ´m going to mount it at the ordinare bolt hole in the rockerpanel, and planing to do the same at rear seat

I can check with my Pal “The seatbelt source” but I can’t promise you anything, give me a couple of days and I try to locate the car model You see I´m not sure myself . I had a couple of these laying sins long and when i started to do something about the 3 point seat belt projet, these turned out to fit just perfect . We have a little 3 year old girl and in Sweden children is travellingin cars looking backwards until they weight is about 30 lbs , and that wasn’t possible with my wife’s Firebird from the start I think I bought these from a swap meet long time ago, They are from a Swedish company “KLIPPAN” and they make seatbelts to many car both Swedish and non Swedish cars . But I can give you an advice. Take a look at a car junk yard there you can see plenty of seatbelt I´m sure there is several small compact cars with nice small seatbelt solution . I was trying with another pair of belts to, think it was from Audi 100 -88 -91 something or perhaps VW passat but they were just a little bit to large to fit properly . I have a friend with a 68 convertible and he liked my seatbelt solution so he did almost the same but he put the house mechanism under the armrest panel, showing only the belt coming up between the armrest panel and the rear ash well panel and that looks more like stock mounted than my solution . But it works the same I add some of my picture showing Seatbelts in action Hope it´ll work out . Tommy
