Hello all, My '68 has power drum/drum brakes and has an odd problem, the drivers side rear brake locks up first. I have adjusted all four and bleed the rears and everything seemed fine. Until the next time I took it out with same problem, now there is a weeping coming from master to booster area and don't know if that is related. Any thoughts/suggestions?
The first thing you need to do is fix the leak before you try sorting out any lock-up issues. Replace or rebuild the master cylinder, hopefully the booster has not been contaminated.
Hey T, I wouldn't think a leak at the master would have anything to do with the drivers locking up before the passenger side. The good Doctor is right, fix that leak first. Check for any possible brake cylinder leaks at the rear wheels, fluid on the drums will lock them up. A leaking axle seal will cause problems as well.
