I'm converting a '67 firebird originally with manual drums to power discs up front, keeping the drums in the rear. Ordered new hard brake lines for the conversion, but looks nothing like what is on the car or would practically fit. Maybe I'm just way off but I haven't been able to find a quality photo, especially from underneath looking up. Anybody who has done this conversion, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

I did that job on my 67 a while back. I ordered a kit and ended up ordering the disc brake conversion brake line kit that is meant to work with the original drum brake line brackets. Original disc brake lines and brackets are different. You can use the factory disc type lines but you need the brackets and it requires drilling and tapping the frame to mount the brackets.

A picture from underneath, how the lines route up around the oil pan. A picture of how they go around the steering box. Classic Industries sells a "4 piece disc brake conversion", and a "5 piece disc line kit". Two different looking lines from the proportioner to the passenger side.

Don't buy from classic industries. They often pawn off camaro parts which can be different. Get brake lines from The Right Stuff or Inline Tube

X2 for Inline Tube. They are excellent.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

its hard to get a pic of it... pretty straight forward though..... mine from right stuff go on the back side of the front cross over frame rail.... thru the gap in the motor mounts and right up the front side of the steering box.... they were all pre bent and fit perfect...
