I am in the process of trying to replace my rear leaf springs. When I tried to remove the front bracket the bolts turned but won't come out. I assume there is one of those crappy clips for each one that is spinning with it. Since there are no access holes inside the car, do I have to drill out holes in my floors to get to them or is there another way?
The nuts are just body clips that are removeable. You buy new clip/nuts and new bolts. They have them at the auto parts stores. The dealerships have them too but all they have are metric. Metric will work. Jim
Thanks for the replies. Not to sound like a dumb a**, but how can I get the clips in place? I don't have access to old ones. That's why I was wondering if I had to driil holes in the floors to get to them. I have the same issues with my console bolts. Those clips are the devil.
Thanks Jim and 69Birdman for the help. I was not having a good Father's day. Yeah I got a clue once I grinded the bolt heads off. I'm suprised those clips are strong enough for that application.
