I had my '69 Bird in the shop for transmission service and now that it is out I am having interior light issues. The interior lights will all spontaneously come on and stay on now. Probably coincidence in timing, but could the door jamb switches go bad and cause them to stay on? I had one switch go bad before where it would stay stuck in so not turn on. I push the switches in and that doesn't shut it off. It has the dome light and the driver's and [assenger side light on. All other lights are functioning properly.

It could still be a jam switch.
Maybe try jiggling/turning the headlight switch and see if they flicker.

Other than those switches, I guess you'd have to start tracing wires?

Check that the headlight switch (the instrument panel dimmer) is working right. If it's over far enough, it could be making contact.

sounds like one of the wires came off from the door jamb switch and is grounding.

I think mine did that one time and it was the driver's side light under the dash was seated in it's metal holder incorrectly so it wasn't making ground I guess so I just reslotted that in (and checked the passenger side as well) and everything worked ok

bingo, I noticed it was after I would push the choke cable and Blue67 was right on, wasn't seated in the metal properly and the light would wiggle and come on. Quick fix. thanks
