SO trying first start on rebuilt engine, getting 12 volts to cap and points. I bought new points/condenser but there is nowhere to attach the wire ? Any tips or suggestions
Factory distributer ? The hot (from coil) wire goes to the small nut on the point spring. The condenser too. Some points don't use a nut but the wire goes to the same place just sliding under the spring and held by spring tension.
Yes, just slide it in alongside so that it contacts the spring, the spring tension is supposed to hold the brass connector that's crimped onto the wire. By the way, in the background of your pic I see your dash w/out the block off above the air controls. Is it an AC car? If you need it I have the duct and vent that go in that opening.
Still no spark ? Ballast resistor is hot though ? Not sure if that matters, so I have wire from resistor to + on coil and - side of coil going to distributor. Turn key to on and get 12 volts to both sides of coil, does this sound right ?
