What locking cap does everyone use? I recently ended up with a tank full of watery gas after leaving my '67 out in the driveway over night. I bought a typical locking cap from the parts store (the push in style which I know is correct for the neck) but it's too big around to fit inside the filler neck "shroud". Does anyone make 1 that fits or do I need to "modificate" this one? Any help or advice would be most appreciated...other than telling me it's time to move to a new neighborhood.
I've never had a locking gas cap on my 'birds. Just stock caps.
What year, and are you sure water is entering the neck by the cap? With the filler behind the gas door on '67-'68, I can't believe water could get in there. And '69 is behind the license plate. (I think?)

68tpls400, I'm pretty sure the water had a little "help" getting past the factory cap. It's in good shape & I agree with you that this much water would have a hard time getting past the door & the cap even if the seal on the cap was bad. Someone is in need of lesson in respecting other people's property. Btw...it's a '67.
I had a locking cap on for years. It didnt need the key to get it off. Just move to one side and pull and it would come off but it looked locked when it was on. Then one day it wouldn't come off no matter what. Of course the keys were gone long ago because i never needed them. Nearly had to damage the filler opening to get the [censored] thing off. Got a regular cap now. S&W is the best gas lock made. #2 would be trunk monkey( youtube it if you haven't seen it).
Auto-hoarder - Did you ever purchase the Stant Unit? I was wondering how it fit and if you were pleased with its performance? I am considering purchasing one as well.
