is the back spacing the same for the front and back?? I have 275 60 15 on the back and 215 70 15 on the front and they still rub when I turn left... ??? all four rims are the same

Same BS front and back. Could be many reasons but mostly the car was never designed to run tires that wide in the first place. On top of that they never came with 15" wheels either. They rub because the wheels and tires aren't made to fit on your car.

I just put 215-70-14 tires on stock R2's with no rubbing. That may be the biggest tires that will fit with no mods. I had 215-65-15's on repop R2's which looked great but rubbed when I had a passenger and hit a speed bump.

What wheels do you have installed? The 215 70 15 is almost 27" in diameter
I have 15x8 Rally II's [all around] with 4.5" BS. The tires are 235 60R15's [26" dia] and they don't rub.

Don't know till you know...it's the depth measurement from the bolt mounting surface to the tire bead lip on the back side of a rim.
