I recently dropped a 400 pontiac block from a 75 catalina into my 68 bird. I ran into some big problems with the motor mounts not matching up to the mounting plates on my bird. Is anyone familiar with any type of kit that can replce the position of the mounts on the later model 400 blocks. The new mounts sit too close towards the front of the motor and I had to fabricate my own mounting plates to bolt the mounts to. What this has done now has propped my motor too high for the hood to close. The tranny and driveshaft all matched up fine but the motor sits way too high. Any suggestions are appreciated.
