Trying to decide what the right set of redlines are for my 1968 HO. What is difference between G70 and F70? Which brand looks most correct?

The road feel on my bias ply versions were awful. But I needed them for class racing. I went with the G70s because that is the widest tire allowed.
I have a set of 15" Diamondback radials with the redline(original BF Goodrich) stripe added and while they look less original they feel so much better handling wise.
1968 400 Coupe, verdoro green, black vinyl top, auto 1969 GTO Judge coupe, Carousel Red, manual 1971 Trans Am, cameo white, auto 1970 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible 350-4(driver), Fire Red, white top, auto 1972 Buick GS Stage 1, Royal Blue, black vinyl top, auto
The '68s came, depending on the model and tire option purchased, with either E70-14 black, redline, or whitewall bias ply Wide Ovals, F70-14 black, redline, or whitewall bias ply Wide Ovals, or 195R-14 whitewall nylon radials. I believe they were Firestones until late in the '68s production when the Goodyear Polyglass started being put on the Firebirds.
I have run the original 195R-14 nylon radial whitewalls, 775-14 whitewalls, F70-14 raised black letters that I crayoned white, F70-14 Goodyear Polyglass, a couple sets F78-14 Goodyear Polyglass, a couple sets of F78-14 snow tires that I had mounted and removed on wheels for several years, and now Coker repro Firestone F70-14 Redlines. Since mine has never run many miles on steel belt radials, I am used to the bias ply and don't know any better about what it would feel like on steel.
What I do know is that the car ate tires. Whether it was my driving, the car's design, the poor bias ply longevity, Illinois roads or all four, I don't know.
any input on the summit tires, they are alos BF Goodrich base, if someone is running these and hates them I l order the diamondback but summit ship and i will have in two days, 4 weeks on diamondback, not that im driving anywhere got 3 feet of snow

I have Diamondback on three of my 'birds and love them. 5000% better than bias ply. I have the Radial T/A redline version. They usually have a sale at the end or beginning of the year, but the discount generally does not even cover shipping. Sorry, no experience with Summit.

Do you have a good link for the summit tire you speak of? That link is not for summit.
I see the Coker BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial Tires 579762 with is coker brand. They should be good. The main difference between the coker and the diamond back; diamond back removes all the tire markings on the outside sidewall then makes the red stripe. Coker leaves all the BF Goodrich markings on the tire and adds the red stripe.
So it is all about what look you are after. If you don't mind all the markings on the tire they should be fine.
I have the same tires as 68tpls400, very happy with them, nice ride. Expensive, but worth it for the quality.

I had G-70-14 redline bias on the car I just sold. I'm going to be honest, I did not like the way it drove and this was an almost daily driver. The tires also filled the wheel wells fine but they just looked too big. I got a nice deal on them from a buddy thats why I put them on. I then purchased redline radials f-70-14 and put them on the same car, they really did look better in the wheel wells and wow that car drove so much better!!!! Id go radial F 70, I have 215's on my HO car
