Sorry if this question has been answered before but I couldn't find the answer in a quick search. I am trying to keep an eye out for a used Turbo-350 tranny that might come along for a can't-pass-it-up price. I have a 326 with the 2-speed automatic right now.
How do I know if I come across a Turbo-350 transmission whether it will bolt up in place of my 2-speed (ST-300?) tranny?
Is TH-350 the same as Turbo-350? Sorry if these are dumb questions
Yes, TH350 is short so to speak for a Turbo 350 and this will be the most direct replacement for the ST300 2 speed you may have now. Same driveshaft and yolk, cross member should work etc...
You'll have a different kick down set up (cable style)from the 2 speed (electric switch like the TH400), but that can be figured out later... no big deal.
Just make sure the replacement is a BOP (Buick/Olds/Pontiac) tranny, as they will be direct bolt ins, where a Chevy TH350 will have a different bolt patern....
