Have you thought about replacing the coils and Koni's with QA1 coil overs? They would allow you to adjust your ride height. I also put new stock size coils on my tubular A arms on my 69 and I have 17's also but my ride height sits a little high. I am going to switch over to the QA1's so I can lower the ride height on mine. My tubulars also have drop spring pocket which I thought would be ok for ride height with the stock size springs but it isn't. Here is a link to one of the QA1 coil over. You will need to select the ones that cover the weight of your front end, this link is for the 450 size https://www.summitracing.com/parts/qa1-gs401-10450a but there are also a 400 and 350 size that represents the front end weight of your car. Take a look at QA1 site to figure out what size you need if you go this direction. Also, if you go this direction, don't forget to buy the spanner wrench as this will make adjustment easier. Hope this helps out.
I would hold on the QA1’s I used to be a big believer in them but they have not stood the test of time. Viking coil overs are what a lot of pro touring f bodies have switched to...
DJP do you happen to have hotchkis springs installed? If you do, They are a great product but drop the front end on the birds a bit too low. If your looking to keep costs down, suggest looking at global west coil spring spacers. Custom fit right into lower pocket. Solve the “too low†issue for under $20 shipped. If your looking for a great spring I would suggest global west S-2’s if you have a 400 and S-41’s if you have alum heads, LS, etc. What tubular lowers do you have? You might be able to buy a 1/4 washer to go under spring for dirt cheep. Remember whatever you do at the spring is double in ride height. (1/4 spacer = 1/2 of lift)
