I am about to install the door weatherstripping, and I wanted to know if I should use weatherstripping adhesive in addition to the plastic tabs to hold this piece in place?
The yellow goo also helps seal out air noise. Yeah, yeah, yeah I know ... but I'd swear the car sounds quieter with the adhesive. It might be that same phenomenon that makes a car run better after you wash it.
Let me second or third it: Don't use weatherstrip adhesive on any of the f/g/f weatherstips, not even in the trunk seal.
All my seals were installed dry. I had a tinsy weensi leak on the trunk seal. The solution--done 18 years ago was to remove the seal, and coat the inserted portion with vasilone. Still acting like the Everedy bunny.
