On the evening that the 1967 Birds were announced, I ordered a 400/400 Tyrol blue coupe with bright blue custom interior. My recollection was that it had courtesy lamps on either side in the sail panels. My current 400 4speed Tyrol blue coupe with parchment custom interior has a single dome light. Was wondering if this was some sort of anomaly, or is this the onset of dementia?.....John
I don't think you're losing it just yet. I have never sat in one but it seem to me the 67 deluxe interior should have two sail panel lamps. Maybe the car you have now was not a deluxe interior when made. Maybe the car was made late enough in the 67 run that they started to put the 68 interior lights in.
Al.....thanks for the reply. Was thinking along the same lines as you, but the PHS shows the custom interior, and the build date is 4th week of February. My other thought is that, since they were assembled in Lordstown, maybe I got a Camaro dome light by mistake. Wouldn't be the first time something like that happened. I'm pretty sure the headliner, and the rest or the interior is original to the car. It's somewhat worn so I guess I'll do the sail panel lamps when I redo the interior......John
