..as usual there are too many conflicting dimensions/answers out there. Want to confirm the correct dimensions/measurements for a 4bbl 400 1968 FB throttle cable. This site says 18" end to end, Eckler says 19", ebay vendors says 19 5/8 eye to eye which would be over 20" overall length and Firebird Central says 20 5/8". All different length info. I have reason to believe that I'd been running a 2bbl cable, have it in my hands and need to know. Thanks in advance!
I ended up buying the Ames FN377 cable only to find out they are the same. So, now I have a spare cable (LOL) and during the research process I found out that it is my carpet/sound insulation that keeps me to get WOT. I'm about 5/16" shy from the secondaries to open 90 degrees. In my opinion the gas pedal is way to low and not far enough form the floor to begin with, so...I will make an attempt to take the gas pedal assembly apart this WE and try to bend the pedal rod upward about 1/2" to gain height and be able to get the WOT. If anyone has any other suggestion how to adjust let me know.

I pulled the cable out where it attaches to the gas peddle and attached a small lead slip sinker on top of the end piece and then reattached it. It took out enough slack to allow mine to open. May want to try it. It has worked well.
Found the plastic gas pedal rod support bracket to be broken. I'll try this first to see if that fixes my WOT and then use a lead sinker to get the rest of the throttle cable play out if still needed. Thx.

Do you have the F4 4BBL throttle bracket installed on the intake?
We are talking about a Qjet, correct? If so, that secondary linkage can be bent to get those throttle blades to 90 degrees at WOT, I had to adjust (bend) mine, per the procedure in Cliff Ruggle's book.
Thanks, you might have missed my latest finding...the plastic gas pedal support bracket is toast. Ordered a new one, that should improve my problem if not fixed it.
I could use your help one more time. My 400TH kick down plunger is not original and I want to make sure I have the correct dimension for final adjustment. Need to know the exact length of the plunger when in rested extended postition. Also need to know how much of the plunger still sticks out at WOT. Measure from the shoulder of the kick down switch. It looks like my kickdown bracket that has the tab to hit the plunger has been re-bent at one time. Thanks much in advance.
