Does anyone know if a 68 and 69 console “T†shifter are basically interchangeable for a powergide? I’m restoring a 69, and have found a 68 shifter only. Thanks, JD
Powerglide (super turbine) and th400 shifters are different if that is your question. Both come with t shifters.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe. 1968 400 convertible (Scarlet) 1976 T/A - 455 LE (No Burt) 1976 T/A New baby, starting full restoration. 1968 350 - 4 speed 'vert - 400 clone (the Beast!) 1968 350 convertible - Wife's car now- 400 clone (Aleutian Blue) (Blue Angel) 2008 Durango - DD 2008 GXP - New one from NH is AWESOME! 2017 Durango Citadel - Modern is nice! The difference between Powerglide and the TH400 are the detents. The same shifter will work, but you may not be able to shift through all the gears yourself (put in 1st and go up). Mine works fine but I do believe it has the detents for a Powerglide. https://shiftworks.com/collections/...-firebird-factory-shifter-conversion-kit
There may also be handle differences.
