I have a 68 bird with a 67 console, 700R4 trans and a third gen shifter that has only three drive gears. what a mess. What I would like to do is keep everything except the shifter and replace it with a Hurst or other shifter that will fit without having to cut up my console. Has anyone done this before?? Sure could use some guidance, many shifters available however making it look and function correctly are both important.
Hey thanks for sending that, looks like a very nice job. I have a slight problem however that my console is a 67 with so called picture frame where the shifter resides. This is whats creating problems for me finding something that will fit neatly into that window. thanks Brian
