I was not sure where to post this, but am looking for pics of various tire size and wheel combos. I run a separate set of drag wheels, so my street tires will not see track duty. Am considering a set of Torque Thrust wheels, likely 15 x 8 in rear and 15x 7 front.
Let me know what you think looks good on the first gen!
Bob's look pretty nice. I think your idea of 15X7 and 15X8 on the FGF looks the best. Maybe with a set of 235/60R15 and 255/60R15 BFG radial TAs. Of course everyone has his/her idea. What looks good to one looks awful to the next. Personally I think the large wheel low profile combos some guys are putting on there cars look like sh&t on a FGF, and on a truck for that matter. But that's just my opinion, some like the skinny tire large diameter wheel look.
Crager SS of coarse! But they are limited regarding backspacing, which limits tour tire size options. I have 15 X 8’s in back, and 14X 6(maybe 7) in front.
My next fave are the Torque Thrust, which do come in a variety of back spacing options.
And then there are the more modern chrome Rally 2’s.
I like the old school street hoodlum look. Fat and high in the back, smaller in front...lots of black rubber showing. I don’t much care for jamming the 17†rims into the wells of a lowered muscle car. ... but that’s just me.
I'm a hobbyist. Not a professional. Don't be hatin'!
I personally like bigger sidewalls as well and a 14 or 15" wheel on These old cars. Was thinking something like this night have a mean look on a street/strip car in a 255/60/15. For the few miles I put on, not worried about tire life or bad weather driving
