Has anyone replaced the firewall pad with either the flat or molded versions? The molded ones run about $180.00 vs. the flat ones around $40.00. It is worth the extra money for the molded one, or are the flat ones good enough? There is a huge price difference.
We are talking about the jute backed rubber insulation on the interior side of the firewall, correct?
Through the magic of 3M spray adhesive, the flat one will fit OK. Mine had to be stretched a bit to get all the pre-cut holes to actually line up. It could have been better.

Thanks, yea the jute pad. Thanks for the reply. I’m thinking the same and going with the flat one. 3m spray adhesive also, thanks I hadn’t thought about that yet.
