A guy near me has a 250 sprint “core†it does not have the carb but the rest seems to be there. It has the 4 bbl intake still. Have not tried to turn it but if someone needs it I’ll try to find out more.
I'm curious what these are worth. I have a 1968 250 non sprint motor. I was told it was "rebuilt" when I bought the car but it ran like crap (lol, right?) I paid what I thought was fair for the car assuming it did not run!
It had decent compression in 3 cylinders and crap in 3 others (like 30-60 PSI) I pulled the head today and found the bottom end really was rebuilt, but they just stuck the head back on. Two cylinders look like they've never even fired. I think the motor was rebuilt in 1994 and they never got it to run right so they quit on it. I found the intake valves weren't sealing worth a crap, two stuck lifters (from too much assembly lube - created a huge suction force somehow..) and one broken lifter (the cap that holds it together had broken).
Anyway, I'm cleaning the head and valves and lapping them. If it works, I'm going to keep and run the motor (fingers crossed), if not, I'm not really willing to spend more money on it. Getting parts for them sucks.

Hey Robert, I got ahold of the guy with the OHC 250 today, and someone had taken it. Wish he had called me first! He did say it was from a Lemans and was running when pulled, and had been covered and still spun easily. Dang! Sorry man,
