Is there a difference between 1967 and 1968? I recently discovered that my rearend is a 8.5 and I want to keep it stock in appearance, will this swap directly in 1968 firebird?

Acenho, are you looking for a correct date code rear axle, or also the correct code? What axle gear do you need?

Your 8.5, is it a 70s rear axle? Whats the difference between a 8.2 and 8.5, gear ratio or years?

I am looking for correct code 8.2, but willing to look into having correct axle to start. Most people at a glance would be able to tell my current 8.5 is incorrect on my car so I was looking to have at least correct appearing. My PHS says 3.90

Ok, I got it. Good luck in finding a 390! I will keep an eye out, for axle and gears.

tHIS IS AN ORIGINAL 67 REAR as stated it is made for mon leafs which are 1 2 3 leafs. The 4 and 5 leaf is multi.

Are you not the one selling the 68 rear in another ad? saw a 4.11 for 1600.00 that is like for your 68 69 car.

This rear is very clean with both traction bars and 3.90 gears we installed a NEW Eaton aftermarket posi as it was OPEN when it was traded in. Rear is all reconditioned and ready to go... add brakes and fluid and have some fun.

Jim, did you ever sell this? It keeps showing at the bottom of my screen and making me drool. I'd love it with 3.55's or numerically lower.

I would either try his site at jdrace.com or post at the V8Buick.com site in the Got Gears portion of the Driveline and Chassis Tech section. He was last there on Wednesday. He may visit other sites more frequently, but I do know he is at the Buick one fairly regularly.
