Is there a difference between 1967 and 1968? I recently discovered that my rearend is a 8.5 and I want to keep it stock in appearance, will this swap directly in 1968 firebird?

I am looking for correct code 8.2, but willing to look into having correct axle to start. Most people at a glance would be able to tell my current 8.5 is incorrect on my car so I was looking to have at least correct appearing. My PHS says 3.90

Are you not the one selling the 68 rear in another ad? saw a 4.11 for 1600.00 that is like for your 68 69 car.
This rear is very clean with both traction bars and 3.90 gears we installed a NEW Eaton aftermarket posi as it was OPEN when it was traded in. Rear is all reconditioned and ready to go... add brakes and fluid and have some fun.
I would either try his site at jdrace.com or post at the V8Buick.com site in the Got Gears portion of the Driveline and Chassis Tech section. He was last there on Wednesday. He may visit other sites more frequently, but I do know he is at the Buick one fairly regularly.
