I've seen some diagrams for vacuum hose routing but they dont seem to line up. The hose from EGR valve does that go in to intake manifold in front of Carb? Is there suppose to be a fitting there? My old engine had one but the new one just has a plug there. What about the rest of the ports on the carb?

Hmmm lots of fancy words and parts that I dont know what they are, thermal distribution regulator? Just tell me the little thingy sticking out of the intake in front of the carb goes to the little thingy sticking out of the manifold. anyone have a real pic under the hood of their routing. that would be the best visual for me. still not sure what the plug is on my intake directly in front of my carb. on my old engine there was a thingy mounted in that hole with a vacuum atached to my egr valve. was that for newer model intakes only?

If you mean the small connection to the intake in front of the carb, it connects to the sensor in the air cleaner and used to control the air cleaner heat riser valve. The following picture shows a couple pictures of mine.
Since mine is a TH400, it doesn't not have that manual trans vacuum control valve plus it has AC so the vacuum lines are a bit different than yours so photos from someone with a manual trans and correct lines might be better for all the other lines. Besides the parts book diagrams Gus linked, have you found the '68 Diagnostic Manual vacuum routing diagrams in previous questions here?
now we are getting somewhere yes if someone would post photos of their vacuum lines for a 4sp THAT would be great as I need real visual. The diagrams show from distributor side and you cant tell where theyre going. Also in your photo the port in the intake i thought that was a port for temperature sending unit as i thought coolant ran through there not vacuum? am i wrong on that too? photos please please

Do you mean the Thermostatic Vacuum Switch (TVS) with the five vacuum lines? It doesn't provide vacuum from the intake. It switches vacuum based on coolant temperature. Here is a description of it: https://firstgenfirebird.org/f-a-q/thermostatic-vacuum-switch-tvs/

harold any chance you could just shoot some photos so i can visually see where a line goes to and from. i dont know what the heck a thermal conductive port to the sensitize dethemalated inverted carb port is. just need it goes from this hole to this hole
