Does any one have a good location for 6 X 9 speakers in a 68 convertible. If so do you have any pictures. I will even take pictures of the stock locations.

The convertible speakers were installed behind the top boot area in the trunk. They were installed in special cardboard speaker boxes which require special mounting screws. These boxes are available from all the major Firebird/Camaro parts houses.

You might also do as Tommy suggests - Vikki (Yellowbird) posted quite a few pictures of the speakers she mounted in her convertible.

Those convertible boxes won't hold a good 3 way 6 x 9...too shallow. They also sound miserable or worse when the top is down, hence my convertible well installation. However, the area is VERY tight and a very shallow 5 x 7 speaker is needed. Blaupunkt Overdrive fit nicely.
