Hey everybody... so my low beams are not working on my 1969. When I click the high beams on all the lights work and all other tail lights and parking lights blinkers all work. Is there a separate ground for the low beams? Or any other ideas what might cause this? I swapped the bulbs but same result. Thank you for any insight in advance.
Low beam bulbs are three prong, and hi beams are two prong. Any chance you have the wrong bulbs installed? Otherwise must be a wire or ground issue. Check for power at both sides of the plugs.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. Did you swap them side to side or did you swap in new bulbs? New bulbs, then start at the connector and work back until you find the OPEN circuit. Only two grounds for the front harness, both at the core support on either side.
Did they work correctly previously and now they just suddenly don't? Or is this car new to you or have you replaced/updated something and you are trying to get the lights working again?
Agreed with above , dimmer switch is a definite possible, PLUS, when mine went out I found a small electrical fire under my dash, just undo the screws for the dashboard and take a peek for burned wires, old switches and plugs can create poor contacts and poor contacts increase amperage and in turn melts wires, etc
