Had the radiator out for repairs (leaking tanks) and slapped it back in the bird this past Saturday, and Voila, Sunday it was leaking again from the tank where it's soldered to the core.
I'm tired of dealing with 50 year old parts.
Need recommendations/experience with aftermarket direct fit radiators, I have the original shroud that clips into the tangs at the bottom of each tank - do they come with those.
Aluminum is fine, at this point I just want to drive the dam thing - Also I don't need one that will support cooling for a big horsepower motor, just daily driver duty.
Have a thermostat issue, I'll start another thread for that.

Thanks! Old stock works but it can be PITA. They have to hot tank that rad and really clean it. Need a experienced old timer. lol If your driving the car a lot I would agree you have to make compromises for maintainability. I can't remember how many times I brought my rad in to fix for leaks. Found out years later there are rubber grommets available to keep rad from shaking so much. My rubber hose at the top of rad would shake and cause the lead solder to fatigue at hose connection.

You can have it recored. I did my original it’s clean and works great no problems since.

You can have it recored. I did my original it’s clean and works great no problems since. I did, it leaked again. Pulling it out this weekend and taking it back to the shop. Just want to have a contingency plan.

Totally agree, get a reputable shop re-core using HE (high efficiency) core and leak test it. I had mine done 2 years ago, works great and running 180F most of the time with a heavy duty fan clutch.

I'll check with a buddy to see what he got and where he got it. Big alum retro-fit/ bolt n. Says it cools his 350 easy. Thinks he's going to be able to cruise in Reno and this year. I say, sure, you go for it.

Ok good then. My buddy says he just bought a Champion alum 4 core off eBay. He wasn't sure who the vendor was. Just FYI.
