read many past forums and have not found a consistent answer. I have a muncie 4sp close ratio transmission the speedometer exits the trans on the driver side. this seem odd as the shifter linkage is all sorts of in the way. either it makes a crazy bend or it rides on the shifter rods? which seems to pinch the movement answers?

On a 69 FB, the speedo cable entry point into the body is in 2 differing locations depending on if its auto or standard. Both cables begin on the transmissions drivers side. The auto body entry point enters low below the brake petal, the standard cars us a hole in the firewall center to route the cable thru avoiding the clutch rods and etc... This is also a easy wat to tell if the body was truely a standard car.
