My 69 firebird has a "1" for week number on the cowel tag. I see from research it is usually a letter. I also see that only T/A used a "1" there. Was this number used on other week number identifiers?
So, the full date code is showing as something like 41 instead of 4A ?
A picture would help.

Looks like it should be 06 and the 1 is a well, hmmm. Not sure what is going on with the ridges in the tag in that area.

The vin plate on dashboard matches the body tag. I think the plate was affixed with a resin before rivetting and then hastily swiped 'clean'. Do you know of any other Firebird that used a 1 there? It COULD be a factory mistake. Any other clues to look for as an engineering test car? It's a mid 69 year car, that was palladium silver. And its unusual it has #62 heads on XB block. I appreciate your help. I'll order a build sheet too.
I was hoping someone with more experience in this area would weigh in but no such luck.

On my intake and heads I noticed dark blue paint under the Firebird turquoise paint. I believe they are GTO. The intake and headers are 1968. Also, for some reason, someone spot welded over the block number (behind #8) and left only "079". There is a casting mark on the side of block stating "350". Was a GTO engine going to be a possibility for 1970 firebird?
079 is correct for '68 and '69 350s. The prior 4 should have been 9790.

Received my '69 Order Sheet from PHS. Mine was a custom customer order (PN8811601) and after built was sent to "Frank Newell Pontiac-GMC, Inc." in Gresham Oregon. It was a regular 350, but with turbo hydramatic, power steering, A.M. radio, console, special windshield, cordova top, and they ordered the redline tires (F70x14 R/LIN), and Decor group.
Maybe the AEE refers to customer order. The other options were Zone Order, and Dealer Order.
