Finally at the point on my restoration where im getting ready to install new fuel tank, sending unit and lines. Was wondering if i should go with just a single fuel line or add the return line as well. Engine is a 400 with 670 holley street avenger, also gonna have vintage ac.
I vote yes. Will help with keeping the fuel in the lines cooler. I think it’s more important now with the current gas designed for high pressure fuel pumps and fuel injection.

Yes, eliminates vapor lock. Eliminates venting issues at the tank (gas cap) and the carb.

Yes. Install it before you get more stuff in the way. Look at it this way even if you don't need it now( which you do) at least it will be there later whe you figure out that you do need one. Also, do yourself a favor and use 3/8" steel line. Won't cost you that much more and if you ever go FI it'll work out better.

If you use steel lines be sure you get them prebuilt as steel line is very hard to flare.

This is strange. I researched the need for a return fuel line recently, and thought that the general consensus for a Pontiac 400, was "no", unless you have extreme fuel needs. My recollection was that the fuel line routing is "cold" enough to avoid vapor lock.
