Didn't know where to post this but since I have visited the tech help forum so often I thought this was a good place. Thanks for all the help posted in here and answers to most of my questions. It has been 3 years since I bought this rust bucket. I took several auto classes at the Community College, auto body, auto welding, auto paint, because I have never done any of that in my 60 years of life. So entire car was a learning experience. There are a lot of good people out there working on cars. I did partial quarter panels, complete wheelhouses, rear tail panel, rear window bottom, partial floor pans, not to mention all the other dents and rust work everywhere. I did my first engine pull of a 350 motor out of a truck and successfully installed it in the bird. Sorry but its a Chevy motor,,,,it was free! Someone gave me a 5 speed manual trans that I was able to mate to it too. Well I could write a book on what I had to do to get this thing roadworthy. Happy Motoring
It sure turned out fantastic! The feeling of accomplishment going through all of that is second to none.

Anybody who’s restored a car from a bucket of bolts and a pile of rust, knows what a huge labor of love it is. I’ve got the scars to prove it. Also a great story that you’d upskill yourself for the challenge. Well done. Looks awesome!
Looks awesome! Easy fix to align your hood better: loosen the bolts from hood to fender and have someone get on a chair or use a 2x4 (wife) lol, push hood wide open, gently, while you tighten the bolts.

It's possible the hinges are worn out. You can have them rebuilt. The rivets wear out. New spring will not fix it.

About the hood. I had to put repop hinges on cause the originals were both torn and bent. I think I have them bottomed out so I may have to slot the holes more than they are.
There are guys that can rebuild those hinges, using as many OEM parts as necessary, to get them working great. Repro's are built fast with inferior cheap parts.
