Can any member please show the location of the under hood light. We are about to install one. Just a single light. I assume it is near the power brake booster. Thank you in advance.
The 1968 Camaro Assembly Manual shows their hoods were pre-drilled with a pair of holes for the lamp (in two different locations depending on the engine). Differences in the Camaro and Firebird hoods may not make the locations in the Camaro documentation applicable for you but the possibility of pre-drilled holes might help. I cannot see if my '68 has any drilled holes because of a hood insulation pad but you might check yours if you are using a factory hood.
JIm, Thank you for the PDF. We have now installed the under hood light in the area I show as #1. It only makes sense to be there based on the light and hood brace design. My late Uncle's bird is just about finished after a two year full restoration. A few minor things need to be completed......HO stripes applied and the engine burned in, etc.....
Then, home in the garage until Springtime.....I guess.
Funny, as a young boy I rode in the car a lot. Now, I will drive it soon for the very first time.......a strange feeling indeed.
