I'm looking for a good or repairable 68 Firebird custom steering wheel. My black steering wheel has seen better days and cannot be repaired unless someone has a mold to do it.

If you look on Minneapolis Craig's list I have pictures of a 68 Custom steering wheel. It needs serious work but is all there except for the center cap and I might be able to find one of those too. Let me know what you think. 100.00 OBO as is plus shipping. 763-913-9573 Kent.

Kent,
I looked at your pics and unfortunately it is as bad as mine. I'll keep looking. Maybe I'll get lucky.

Brian,
First of all I'm sorry for not seeing this earlier. The picd looks like the shape mine is in but appears to be more in round. What are you asking for them?

There is a guy who does firebird custom molds of the deluxe steering wheel. They are very high quality...but VERY VERY expensive. I'm pretty sure his quote was 1600.00.

The problem with big gaps like that, in my opinion is that the hard plastic cannot be pushed back together.
Even if you filled it in with POR15...you'd have to grind away significant amount of original plastic to get the top edge even. It probably cracked and separated that far from the excessive cold and heat?

You're absolutely right on about these issues. Steering wheel is also out of round. I read an email where a guy used a big floor press to make his steering almost back to round.
